Project UEBA - United European Baseball Association

The biggest, dumbest, and wildest project in all of OOTP- creating a comprehensive European Baseball world. If this doesn't get me to learn Illustrator, nothing will.

United European Baseball Association grows from a smaller project I did a couple years ago called Caleon Professional Baseball- which in itself grew from a middle school project. Caleon is an alternate universe Germany, so naturally I combined my love of baseball and that alternate universe Germany. The United European Baseball Association grows on the initial 20 teams by expanding into at least 4 leagues in 4 different countries with 20 teams each, based on the country's respective association football league.

The Project Contains...
  • 152+ Unique European baseball team identities, complete with logos, wordmarks, cap insignias, and uniforms
  • at least 4 different leagues set in the UK (Champion's League), France (Association 1), Spain (Union Nacional de Beisbol) and Germany (Zentralliga)
  • A winter tournament of 24 teams (top 6 from each league, if I can get it to work), which is where the UEBA comes from
  • and a Quickstart for you to dive right into.

I plan on doing and uploading 1-2 teams daily for the foreseeable future, and I already have 1 down. For now though, I leave you with the league logos I have made.

London Lions

Alright so I got a bit carried away, but I have completed 5 teams so far (4 in UK, 1 in Germany) I will be doing this in a certain order, and a lot of these teams will be inspired by a nearby soccer team's logo. So up first, we have...

The London Lions!

Clear inspiration from Chelsea and the Detroit Lions in the simple color scheme and the wordmark. For an introductory team this team did not have much trouble. This is the only team I didn't bother with a font at first, will be fixed in the full edition.

London Meteors

Each country will have its downtown capital teams (at least two in each, as well as greater city boroughs and such will be revealed down the line) revealed first. So that means...

The London Meteorites are back!

This was one of the original 20 teams that played in my first European baseball world project called Caleon Professional Baseball, with a fresh rebrand inspired by a mix of the UK flag's colors and the Wolverhampton Wanderers badge. I really like the hexagonal look.

My PC is in the shop for ram upgrades and other repairs so it'll be a couple of days before I upload a new identity.

This took a while to get back to, I'm sorry about that, but all 152 teams (76 top tier, 76 second tier) now have official city locations and about 60 of them (including all British, Spanish and German top tier identities) have nicknames. I have finished the graphics for the Champion's League (aka the British top tier) and will begin work on posting them here. Check the OOTP discord if you would like an early preview!

Also, please don't ask me to do pre-23 uniforms, I have to do 135 more unique logos for the teams and second tier leagues (not all unique monikers) and 304 uniforms (42 are already done, possibly more if anyone wants an alternate to their favorite) and I have plans to do teams in the Netherlands and Italy. Thank you.

Oh, you thought I gave up?

This project was never dead in the water, but with the realization that the officially licensed BBF league is in OOTP 25 and 26, I decided to focus my efforts on a country that has not been implemented officially into the game; Germany. Introducing...

Baseball Verband

Baseball Verband (lit. Baseball Association) is a 3-tier German league with promotion and relegations with its origins in the early 1970s, but only formally organizing in 1991, with its first season in 1993. It has 3 tiers with a one league, promotion/relegation system. Those tiers are called Baseball Verband, 2. Verband, and 3. Verband respectively, with a domestic postseason tournament called the DBL-Supercup involving every team in the 3 leagues.

I've been posting my progress in the OOTP Discord, and this league will come with 54 unique teams, complete with logos (created with the help of Adobe Stock illustrator files) and 3 jersey uniform sets for every team. It'll also come with custom stadiums for all 54 teams (built with the in-game 3d park constructor so don't get your hopes up on the utmost quality), complete with unique seventh inning stretch songs that I will NOT be publicly releasing because they're ripped directly from college fight songs in the US.

Don't expect this to be finished in time for the release of OOTP 26, but I will get it out as a quickstart with all the files as soon as I can. I am very close to completion, I just need to do history up to 2025 as well as complete the uniforms and stadiums, which I'm 1/3rd of the way done with.

For a little sneak peak for those on the forums and not the discord, I'll start with the team that gave me the most headaches when creating their lore: the Munich Mountaineers.

The Munich Mountaineers were founded in 1973 as the second team in Munich after the Munich Monarchs, and have developed a fierce rivalry with them, the third team in Munich, and the neighboring Augsburg team, which we'll also get to. In my plans, this team was supposed to move to Bonn in 1999, but they became so successful in Baseball Verband, not only being the first team to win multiple championships, but also the first team to complete the German Baseball Domestic Double AND ended up winning 4 championships in a row before I planned to move them to Bonn, that they forced my hand and I let them stay in Munich. The team that eventually moved to Bonn at the end of 1999 ended up being in 2. Verband at the time. Eventually the Mountaineers would fall off in 2004, being relegated to 2. Verband, and haven't been back in top flight since.

The name "Mountaineers" comes from the fact that the Alps mountain range is present beyond the skyline of Munich.

Stadium: Munich Arena (Capacity: 42,196)
Fight Song: "The Victors" (directly taken from the University of Michigan's fight song of the same name)
BV Championships: 4 (1996, 1997, 1998, 1999)
DBL-Supercup Championships: 1 (1997)

The logos are super clean. Do you think you'll have a quickstart file for this? Or at least a compilation of all the graphics?

Just to get a gauge of where everyone plays, I made a map of every team in the leagues, and I have to say... I think I put way too many teams in North Rhine Westphalia (the western region of Germany with like 15 markers)

Oh right we should talk about the teams more before actually finishing the project. I will update lore as I progress in the history sim.

Founded in 1977 as just the Bremen Baseball Club (we will be using English translations of all clubs), the Bremen Musicians were a founding member of the Baseball Verband league in 1992. The team despite sharing a stadium with Werder Bremen in the early years, did not adopt the same color scheme as their counterparts, instead opting for a black and white color scheme. They were the second team to adopt a black and white color scheme in the league but were easily the most successful in the early years of the Western League. However, the team was the first team to be relegated in 1993, but returned after a season in 2. Verband. They stayed in BV as a midpack squad before winning the table out of nowhere in 2000, breaking up the Munich Mountaineers four peat. However, they would fall off a cliff, being relegated to 2. Verband the next season. They are what is considered to be a yo-yo club by German baseball fans.

The name Musicians honors the rich musical culture of Bremen as well as referring to the fairy tale Town Musicians of Bremen written by the Brothers Grimm. This name was actually suggested by someone in the discord.

Stadium: Bremen Arena (capacity: 44,438)
Fight Song: "Yea Bremen" (inspired by "Yea Alabama")
BV Championships: 1 (2000)
DBL-Supercup Championships: 2 (1998, 2008)

Logo and Insignia:
