Sim Template for Playing as Manager

I've tinkered with OOTP but never fully got into it. But of course I can see it's an extraordinary sim and I'd really like to dig in deeper.

Here's the thing. What I'd like to do is to set up a fictional league, manage one team, and have the AI control all the front office functions.

I know that's going against what OOTP is designed to do, but I love the idea of having to take on a roster assembled by the GM and try to make it into a winner on the field, not knowing if my CF will get traded, or whatever.

So my question is, is OOTP good at doing this, and what settings would I need to make sure I have right in order to make it work?

You can totally do that. Just select Manager instead of GM or GM/Manager. And then if you want you can tweak what you do and the AI does by going into the manager options.
