Why so many elite 2nd basemen
I’ve run 60 years of a purely fictional league, and the number of elite hitting second baseman is extremely high. Not just batting average but power too. This is not a small sample and I haven’t done anything with the settings. What’s going on?

Any chance it's a case of the AI being over aggressive in making players 2B?
The game has always had an issue with the AI changing the displayed position of players to the highest positional values. IE the AI loves to turn any outfielder with minimum defensive ratings into a CF |

Which... Also doesn't make sense if itself but it does appear so. Last edited by DennisDenver; 04-11-2025 at 11:19 PM. |

In the last couple of seasons, I have signed or traded for second basemen or even just searched for them. One off-season, I signed or traded for 3 catchers for depth. Now, the league is flooded with good catchers. In the past, I edited players to be switch hitters, and the game created a lot of switch hitters over the next few seasons. I call this the g00gle effect.
