Question About Starting an MLB Save

Admittingly, I don't play MLB saves all that often but this version I wanted to start a serious one. When I loaded the MLB standard, player numbers are incorrect, such as Skenes being #20 instead of #30 and there are no player faces. I turned them on but every player has a generic facegen.

Am I doing something wrong or is that just the way MLB saves are?

The database has Skenes as #30, so not sure why he doesn't in your game. Who has #30?

The first seven (top lefthand side) facegen settings at default look like this. If you change the top one, it will make fictional facegens ("None" means no fictional ones and the game only loads the ones that ship with .fg files). I assume the default .fg files are in your fg_files folder (at least 5,000 of them that are the Korean and MLBPA authorized facegens).

You may need to mass regenerate them or clear the cache after you fix any settings, as necessary. The wiki post here can help you clear the cache, if needed : https://wiki.ootpdevelopments.com/in...ustom_Facegens

This is right after creating a standard game. Yes I'm on the most current version, I dont have any mods, this should be the same exact game that 90% of users have.

are there separate databases and standard league settings for Mac and PC versions?

Far left, directly under "None", so second one down needs to be on.

Load Facegen PhotoFit files automatically.

that i can gather, but the issue is that it's off in the first place

At some point you clicked near it or in another save turned it off and it remembers. In a new purchase of the game, the literal default, it is on.

Who knew that game settings in one league would affect setting in another league? What a terrible idea, especially since that's not clear.

Still doesnt explain why Skenes is #20 in every standard league even on different computers

I dug a bit for you, and Skenes was changed to uni #30 from #20 on 8 April. Games will require a new database coming in via a patch (this happens every few patches or so) and then it should be #30 in new games going-forward.

It doesn't affect existing leagues. It just remembers your last choice when creating a new league.

Do you mean the patch 26.2.50 should have changed this or the next patch after 26.2.50?

If they were setting up the MLB Standard Game QuickStart today, it'd be #30 but obviously it was set up weeks before the database was updated to reflect #30. New info (presumably inclusive of uni number changes) flows into the QuickStart based on rating changes or other issues per the Roster Issues thread but I don't have visibility into how or when those changes go into effect.

All I can see and change is the database and, as of eleven days ago, it is corrected. That's all I was saying.
