24 to 26
Is it possible to go from 24 to 26 without converting to 25, then to 26?
If not, where can I find 25?

No you have to go through each one.
Old versions can be found here https://www.ootpdevelopments.com/ootp-prior-version/ |

Thanks. As it has always been.
Since Markus is gone, is 26 worth the upgrade from 24?

You should read the Master Change Lists for both to get an idea of what is there. In addition to the new features you can see there are lots of under the hood changes in v25 and 26 with player skill ratings going from a 0-250 ish to a scale of 0-600+ probably being the biggest UTH change. It's not something you see but you certainly "feel" it. There will always be a group that doesn't like something about how the game is developing based on their opinion/wishes on how the game should work and what it should or shouldn't do. IE a normal variety of opinions you see on any game you buy, or anything you buy for that matter. Me? I may be a group of one, but I'm sure there are many others, that think OOTP is the best baseball game on the market. I buy each new version and have found each to be worth the price. Sometimes a new major feature I've always wanted is added, sometimes not. Whether my biggest wants are finally in or not I still find value in the features they do add. My guess is since you ask the question you are at least somewhat happy with v24? Otherwise you wouldn't be asking about v26. At the end of the day if you do buy v26 be prepared for the new player ratings scale. With the new 600 ratings scale players are more granular and will look different with the more realistic scout evaluations. You may wonder "where are all the high rated players?". Those same players are still there, perform the same way, but are on a more realistic scouting scale. Ie the old 65 over all "good player" is now more likely a 55 but still a good player putting up the same expected stat lines. Players in the 60's are stars, while 70+ are rare and should be the superstars of your game. It takes a bit of getting used to especially if you import an old game.

So, the answer to your question depends on how you play the game and what your expectations are. I've pre-ordered every version since OOTP16. That streak ends next spring. |

You don't have to purchase 25. Just use in demo mode.

Great tip, I'm sure several people find themselves in that position, I guess not every person on this board buys every one.
26 really really needs a patch in my book. Hoping it finally arrives pre-Holiday. These games are always a value, though. |

I usually go every even numbered version (using the prev. demo to convert and upgrade)
