apparently i looked and found more info on it first off there is a bill in congres sright now https://www.espn.com/boxing/story/_/...ng-revival-act wihc IS worth a read. and two this is apparently a new boxing organziation from the mind of Dana White https://www.ufc.com/news/paramount-a...rive.%E2%80%9D
On another side note i just watched the WBC Grand Finals on farcebook (via way of Ring magazing/Dazn). Dazn kept propping up their upcoming fights and hyped their their new ULTIMATE plan which includes PPV fights including next weeks Inoyue fight (that fight alone is $69.99) and the ultimate plan is at 39.99 a month (12 month plan) 49.99 after that. I'm going to think long and hard on this one (the deal expires jan 2). |

We don't have any streaming services. Early this year I spent an entire morning researching and researching and comparing to figure out how it works and what it would cost. I discovered that streaming would cost more than the overpriced cable we have now, if we wanted to continue watching all the channels we regularly watch now.
Just to begin streaming, we would need to either buy a Roku thing or buy a "smart" tv, because we have just an ordinary large flat tv we bought before 2017. Our overpriced cable service offers several "streaming" channels. My understanding is that we would need to buy an adapter to begin receiving them. Every time they send us an email nagging us about the "free" streaming channels they offer, I email them back and ask why they don't just add them to our existing service instead of making us jump through hoops. It's all too bloody complicated. TV should be simple. I'm surprised that millions of people have let themselves be convinced that dividing tv channels up and paying for them separately is a good thing.

Antonin i'm sorry to hear that you are REALLY missing out. You mention costs that varies with what you get. For ME I have paid subs for the following Disney+, Hulu, HBO Max all in one bundle 21.79 tax inc. Fox One And ESPN bundle (43.59 reduced rate first year) Apple TV 13.90 that is it for PAID (79.28 tax included) Cable itself 64.99 1gb 3yr gradulally increasing plan will reduce speed when it tops out at 3rd year. so that total is $144.27 PERIOD! (taking a very LONG look at DAZN again this untilamte price with the free PPV's is very cost effective and dunno how dazn can pull this off). so that will probably be an additional 39.99 plus tax ill say about 43.99 ish so total total of 188.28 range????
Now take cable (using spectrum cause well) I know comcast/xfinity had a plan to add netflix and peacock but oh well) I just chatted with Spectrum on this for the cable tv PLUS the apps in question (which happens to be all the above, plus surprise PEACOCK) sans apple tv and dazn that cost is $184,99 no tax. Which means that apple tv and Dazn wil lbe added ot that costs and the others are now merged in with the tv. One i did not mention is Paramount but I get that with my wally world delivery option. so the argument about the higher cable is actually a moot point BUT with roku there are severa FREE apps i use (Pluto TV, Roku TV, Tubi, NHK World Japan etc...all of those are totally FREE |

I don't have any paid streaming services, but basic cable is included in the rent where I live. I got a Roku stick and free services plus the ones I can access with my cable account are plenty for me.

yup that IS the way to go Plight you are totally covered and after looking over the post i did i contacted spectrum and well while i was typing out the earlier post and got somethign going (a bit more expensive but the costs do offset overall) i picked up amc+, local regional sports, peacock, Vix (spanish wich i dont speak or follow that well) tennis (not interested) and kept disney, hulu, hbomax, espn and fox one. So i know my local regional is 19.99 a month amc+ 6.99 and peacock 10.99 (total 37.97 without tax) my disney bundle is 21ish with tax and espn/fox one is 43ish with tax for a total of 171 ish range while with teh tv add on its 195.87... $24 difference????? tv time i'll figuer it out the sports stuff is the killer oh well. I left out apple because it is seperate so $200 not counting dazn for everything and Dazn i'm taking a LONG look at the free ppv's are very enticing. especially with Inoue coming up
