Patch #1

What can we expect from tomorrow patch. Also will we be prompt to download the new patch once we fire the game up? Thanks

Markus said patch 1 will be released some time tomorrow morning. The game should let you know that there's an update available, and it will link to the thread. Of course, to be safe I would just keep an eye on the forums.

Habsfan18 is correct the patch will be released tomorrow. As for when it's out, who knows.

Now I cannot for the life of me find where I initially saw someone say this, but I want to second the hope that we can eventually have a return to actual patches rather than a necessary full install each time. ~2.5 hours of downloading every time isn't really ideal.

It only takes 5 minutes for me to download.

DSL. I have a maximum of about 180 kbps download speed, and it's often more like 120.

On Friday it took me less than 5 minutes. On Monday it was just over an hour. I'll assume the servers were very busy at that time.

The version released on Steam was already the latest.

Is this going to be a patch or will it require the full install? Wow, I never realized how slow DSL is until this version. It took 4 hours last night for my game to install on Steam. Was going to do the original version patch this evening, but I might as well wait till Friday now. Ugh! I might have to start loading up my desktop so I can download patches using the internet at work.

I think we will have a patcher available this time.

Just so I don't screw my install up. Should I download patch #1, or can I just wait for patch #2 and use the patcher?

You installed the game on Steam, right? You do not need patch #1, the Steam version (and our release version from Monday as well) already was patch #1. I repeat myself here

Ugh, sorry I confuse even myself most times. I downloaded the Steam version, yes. I can definitely see the changes patch one made, especially in the dark skin. However, I didn't update my original OOTP purchased version yet. What I'm trying to find out is, can I wait till Friday and download the patcher and be completely up to date. In otherwords, will skipping patch 1 cause any problems? I want to keep my original version up to date as well. At least until I completely trust this whole Steam thingy.
