Crazy extra innings win vs the Mets

My first post here, been playing OOTP for about a year now.
Currently playing as manager only of the Atlanta Braves
This is the longest extra innings game I've ever been involved in. 18 innings. And in a crazy, but maybe fitting end, it ended with a wild pitch to Chris Johnson allowing Austin Riley to score.

Had to use Alex Wood for 3 innings relief in the end, as I still wanted to save a "closer".

Why save a "closer" when you're at home in extras?

In case they threatened a lead was my reasoning.

At home and in extra innings, you cannot have a lead.

I think he was saying that he was saving the closer in case they threatened to take the lead.

In a tie game, every batter who steps in the box threatens to take the lead with one swing.

Just had a 25 inning game against the Cards as the Pirates in my last season. We ended up winning but both teams had to end up using a starter for 2-3 innings from what I remember. Longest I've seen.

I should have taken a screenshot - I just had game 4 of the world series go 18 innings! If I hadn't have won it in the bottom of the 18th, I'd have had to put a position player on the mound as every single pitcher on my playoff roster was exhausted.
