Meet demand

When offering a contract extension to one of your own players, if you click "meet demand" am I guaranteed the player will accept it and not "change his mind"?

I have not had extension problems. I have been outbid in FA and meet demand did not get the player signed.
Unofficial opinion.

if they are happy, they will sign (based on the feeback saying the contract is ok).. unlike FA contracts that have competition involved.

i guess if some of the factors just happen to update between the offer and response, you might see a positive response change to a negative one. that's just bad luck and shouldn't occur often.

the "meet demand" will probably pay them more than you can likely get. i would assume this causes a positive response, so to asnwer your question, yes he will sign after that point... but you can get him cheaper than that 99% of the time.

figure you can safely deduct ~10% off a request... more if it's a high-end contract (20+ to 30+M/year). market price means nothing here... this is all about the players demand (personality).

if you think it's bloated relative to teh market, you need to let them hit FA and roll the dice that some desperate team doesn't rain on your parade as you allow his demand to drop to a normal range in FA. you won't be able to just low-ball them when they want an inflated extension. you have to let reality knock them down to earth.
