2nd Half Swoons

Im currently in the Silver league, had a solid season, seeded #2 in my conference for the playoffs

My question though, in almost every season i've played starting with Rookie, I've followed a similar course, very strong early to mid season and then after the all star break seem to go into this swoon where, im lucky if i can finish at month at .500.

I've chalked it up to the ebbs and flows of a long baseball season, but, it has happened again and I'm beginning to wonder if there is something more to it?

Is it a case of your team doing worse, or your opponents getting better?

Just this past season in gold, I had a team that hovered around 500 until mid-August, then started climbing after I fixed one very weak spot in my lineup and another in my bullpen.

That's a good point to consider, but, based on my playoffs results, I'd say no...at least not completely? I've been to 3 WS, (2-1, with one stupid error on my part away from being 3-0), and bounced once in game 7 of the sub-league series. So, I've done pretty well in my post-seasons.

But these late season swoons! They are puzzling.

I assume some of it is due to other teams in your league upgrading mid-season? I went through the same thing this week but I haven't dug too deep into it..

I noticed this as well, all the way from 19 to now. I think teams improving is the biggest culprit, but there´s also some runs through the schedule where you are facing some really tough teams.
My pack only team went through May 18-9 and I thought adding a gold I had pulled righted the ship, but then they went through a 7-20 June . Ouch.

Seems to be pre-programmed. Yet to have a season that did not include a 10 game in a row losing streak and then follow up with a 8 game winning streak etc. Wash, rinse repeat and so on

I've noticed this trend dating back to last season (and maybe OOTP19?) and have thought a lot about it. It doesn't seem as if teams Pyth% are out of whack. My best guess is that many teams receive a decent chunk of points at the ASB and reinvest them to upgrade at some positions.
