"Position locked to RP"

Hey all, I have a player, Jake Cronenworth, who has his position in red as "RP" even though I have him listed as a second baseman. I've modified the position in both the editor and the traditional set position way. I've checked and unchecked his two-way player status in the game strategy menu.

Is this due to the new MLB rules that two way players have to be designated one way or the other, since nobody yet qualifies for the true two way status? I already have all of my pitchers filled out, so if that's the case it'd be at 15?

Have you looked at his Game Strategy to make sure the role is not set there? That is usually the only way you get that locked status on a player.

a non human manager that is controlling or extremely successful might do something like that too.

Pitching is set to "none" in the game strategy screen and he's listed as a 2B... is that what you mean? I assume that's a sort of bug then, since he isn't listed as a reliever/closer?

Right click on the player and select 'Set Game Strategy'. It should open that players game strategy and check to see if the 'Force Role' drop down under Pitching Staff Settings has anything in it. If it is blank, then I would recommend going to the Technical Issues forums and upload your save and have the devs look at it.

In the editor he does have pitching ratings, so it could be why the AI was trying to use him as a pitcher.
