Season-long stamina
As I watch my favorite team play out the string, and see so many players hitting the wall, getting shut down, etc., it occurs to me that something missing (to my knowledge) from OOTP is a sense of season-long stamina — that is to say, not what happens to a pitcher after five or six innings on a given day, but what happens after, say, 150 innings if he isn't used to that kind of workload.
Not sure how difficult this would be to implement, but I think it would do wonders for immersion to give players a long-range stamina element that could build dynamically over time. A star rookie pitcher who never eclipsed 100 innings in the minors would see his skills fade in the back end of the season. A former international star would struggle at the end of his first MLB-length season (cough, Yoshida, cough). Would add a nice element of management to have to consider shutting guys down, managing their innings, and so forth down the stretch.
