Exclamation Please post here for problems re "corrupt or a save-game from an old version"

Hi all,
While we have been making changes every patch to help with these issues, we see that there are still people experiencing it.
Since we cannot reproduce on our devices, please post here and I can ask some questions to hopefully narrow down the problem(s).

Some items/info that would be helpful to me are;
- the device it occurred on
- how much free storage is on the device
- what you were doing in the session before you got this prompt and how you closed down the app (i.e. put it to background, saved and went to main menu first, etc.)
- if you have the log file for the session before you got the prompt that would be extremely helpful
- any other details that you might remember about how you use the app (especially relating to saving, closing or updating)
- the more info the better, especially if it may help me reproduce

I'm really sorry to anyone this issue has affected

Update
Great news, I think we got things sorted out. I'm going to release a quick patch with just this change asap. I'm crossing my fingers, but this should help prevent problems with saved games.
And if this change is successful, you should be able to play the games that were labeled as corrupt.
So please keep an eye out for an upcoming quick patch and let me know if it helps

Ok new patch is out and it should help recover games that are labeled as corrupt or from an old version. Please let me know if it helps

Hi,

I also just experienced this same issue. Went to load my save this morning and got the "The loading of the database failed. It is either corrupt or a save gave from an old version" message.

Device: iPhone 8 Plus
Free Storage on Device: 8.9 GB out of 64 GB
The latest update patch is installed on my phone, and was installed prior to my save corrupting.

The last time I used the app, I saved the game and then closed the app from the Manager's Office Screen. Since I have had issues with corruption in prior versions of the game, I tried to be very careful with how I use the app (don't switch apps while running, always save before closing)

If you have any suggestions, it would be much appreciated. Thank you!

Just to confirm, was this on the patch released this morning (55) or patch 54?
Can I also ask what language you are using (Korean or English)?
If possible, can you enable debug mode in the general options. Then try to load the save and send me the trace file afterwards? (You can find the trace file in the Files app on your iPhone)

Using English, and this was Patch 54 (the one you reference in the above post).

I've checked this zip file but it doesn't seem to be a complete saved_games folder. Is there any way you can zip the whole app file structure and send that over? Thanks!

To my knowledge I didn't manually nchange anything. I think if anything, I may have pocketed the phone at work XD mid-game and perhaps it shut itself down mid-save? Only thing I could figure. I'm on a Pixel 4XL and if you try to switch to a text or any other app outside of OOTP it usually says it's not responding... Typically then I would click wait and return to the game... But if you are away from the OOTP screen long enough it just restarts to title screen.

Yeah this is a "fake" warning. I made some changes in the recent patch that should hopefully have helped prevent it from popping up (so let me know if it helps at all).

I'm definitely going to dig into why the issues with the players might have occurred, but in the meantime I think I can get your save fixed

Oh I'm so sorry I thought I responded to you already.
That doesn't look like the trace file I would be after, since it just seems to show the game shutting down. Unfortunately too you are on an iPhone, and Apple prevents us from actually accessing a game's files (unlike on Android).
So it's unfortunately also unlikely that we'll be able to fix the game since you can't send me the files.
The only last thing I can think of is this; turn on the trace mode, then try to open up the corrupt game. This will at least populate the trace with a more detailed reason as to why it's corrupt. If you can then send that trace to me there may be a way of fixing the game, but it would depend on the reason for corruption.

I reran the trace, and it made 2 files for some reason. I attached both of them. Thank you again for your help

Just lost a 156 game season with the corrupted file message... A51 samsung...49 0ut of 128gb memory used... I'm always careful about saving and never hard close. Still haven't made it through a season yet.
