How is this possible?
How do you work out for 4 months and not notice any difference.

In universe? He's a professional athlete who is, presumably, in good shape already. He may be at or near his natural physical limit.
Out of universe? The Development Lab would be broken if there was one option with no failure condition. |

In such good shape it is humanly impossible for any further improvement. Good to know, helps maintain the immersion.

Where do you get "impossible"?
If the Lab is successful the player will improve. It just isn't guaranteed. You seemingling aren't understanding the point of the Lab? The players have separate development focuses you can give them for their regular workout routines. The Lab is a specialized, somehow out of the ordinary, type of focus. It could take the player beyond their regular workouts, it could have little to no effect (like your example), and it could also blow up in your face and the player could regress or get injured. I wish we could send a lot of posters around here to a lab for attitude adjustments ![]() |
