Financial bug for unaffiliated teams

In a class AA league I have 2 teams that are not affiliated and the rest are. First off, I can't view the financials for those two teams when on the team page by clicking on the front office tab - minor, but annoying.

More importantly, two unaffiliated teams do not appear to make any money and can spend LOTS of money on free agents. The two teams don't show any money being made from the previous season, but in leagues that aren't affiliated this doesn't happen. In other words, it seems to just be a problem in a league that's affiliated and only for the unaffiliated teams.

Since a picture's worth a thousand words...

Affiliated minor leagues don't actually have finances, since they are really for the development of players for their parent major league clubs.

A minor league set up as an independent league however will have a full financial system.

I was referring to unaffiliated teams not leagues. In the game guide it says that you can have unaffiliated teams in a league affiliated with a major league. Also, the game has an option to choose "none" instead of a team so it must have been intended for us to have unaffiliated teams in a league affiliated with a major league. That is the part that is not working correctly - the unaffiliated teams should have a financial system since they are spending money. One team has a current budget of $144 mil. and it's an AA team!

This feature should either be fixed or the "none" option should be removed.

Affiliated minor leagues do not have actual finances - so the unaffiliated team in the minor league is really spending non-existant money from non-existant revenue. It's signing players to huge contracts but the dollars involved are non-existant.

Unfortunately, the players don't realize the money is non-existant and thus the unaffiliated team can grab lots of talent.

The ability to set some teams as unaffiliated in an affiliated minor league is an important and useful feature, but since affiliated leagues have no actual finances there are some unintended consequences taking place, such as what you've highlighted.

Hopefully these can be ironed out.

Thanks for noting the problem - I can't imagine going through all these different issues on here like you guys are doing.

For now, I set those teams to be affiliated with some major league teams so now some ML teams have more than one AA minor league team. Hopefully this won't cause a problem.

It just means they might have a little more talent at their disposal than other teams.

While single affiliates at each of the AAA, AA, and A levels is the standard today, in earlier years major leagues teams sometimes had more than one affiliate at a given level.
