Possible bug? Rookie teams with 50 or 60 players on roster.

My GCL Rookie League team regularly has, say, 55 players on the roster. I'm not sure that this is right. Sure does make it hard to juggle, though!

Are you running a historical league while using a full minor league system?

No. I created a new fictional league, using the default Major American League, Cuban League, Venezuelan League, and Japanese League. I took control of the GCL Boston affiliate.

The game started with an initial player draft, and for the first couple of months, the rookie roster was little more than a holding pen for about 20 pitchers in the system that did not have a place on one of the higher-level teams which start their season in April.

But after the June rookie draft, my roster size jumped to nearly 60, and then pretty much stayed there ever since. There are still plenty of roster moves--promotions, recalls, etc--but the game is not cutting its rosters down after the draft to make room for the new players.

Seems like there needs to be a more efficient means of the game getting rid of the scrubs and letting them fade away into retirement, or off to a custom made, low-level indy league. But for now, they seem to just get stockpiled in the rookie level.

Its been pretty well documented that the AI does not know how to cull its minor leagues of non prospects from the lowest levels.

Perhaps, but if the minor league roster rules are supposed to be the same as its parent league, then the roster should get cut to 25. I get if this is a solution to the opposite problem, which might be that the AI cuts haphazardly and you end up with a lot of illegal rosters because of too few players.

I'd think that, ideally, the rookie league rosters would be set at 25, and as players got hurt or cut from rosters, that the AI would be able to pick up someone from the free agent pool of wannabes. I can also see why this might be hard to code, though.

Still, having 55 players on a team when the roster rules specify 25 players seems like a bug, so I figured I'd report it.
