Sign and release Free Agents

Teams will sign free agents in my MLB test league, then release them a day or more later. This cycle happens two or three times per player, as I go through the player cards.

It seems extremely haphazzard and isn't anything that I can explain, all I know is, it shouldn't be happening.

Here is a screenshot..because it's still a pretty usual occurance

In my league, all the minor leagues are unaffiliated. But why did he get released a few days after signing with the Rockies and what is he doing signing for that little money in A-Ball.

The guy is 40-years old by the way.

Sign, release, sign, release...

I'm seeing this behavior all over the place in my league. Here's an example:

And when I say ALL OVER THE PLACE, I mean this "sign 1yr contract, release the very next day" behavior is pretty much the norm...

Bug?

I don't know if this is so much a bug as a systemic AI flaw.

Eliminating it is a top shelf priority of this round of testing from my perspective.

Not to get wise here or anything, but this is a huge elephant to have had walking out with the final release. It's all over my league and even a casual inspection of the player histories will reveal it. But I'm not a programmer or beta tester, so maybe I don't fully understand how these things are uncovered or dealt with. However, having said this, I know that it will be taken care of eventually... FWIW, like you, I'm in favor of dealing with the AI issues first and foremost, although it appears that the incremental patch approach will probably turn out the performance fixes short term, AI-related stuff down the road...

Most likely this would be the case (if Mark decides to go this route) solely because it will take longer to fix the AI issues than the memory leak and other performance setbacks.

True and fair enough. I guess I'm just a little impatient now that I've seen the promise of this excellent game. But the current AI's shortcomings are such that for me, as someone who is admittedly neurotic about precision and correctness in the statistical data, it's pretty much reduced my interaction with the game to experimenting with different setups and exploring the interface. Which is quite a lot, and enjoyable in its own way, I guess. But I'm not going to get emotionally attached to any of these early leagues of mine, that's for sure.

This issue was claimed fixed, and verified in Patch 2.

Thanks!
