MAC ootp 2006 cpu useage

Thanks for the mac version first. Second, even at rest OOTP 2006 uses 10% of cpu power and varies between 10-40%. The only thing the program is doing is running the ticker. When simming game it lays out 100% of cpu. I running it on a macbook pro 2.0 core duo with 2gb ram. Seems like heavy cpu overhead at rest.

Try turning off the ticker and see if that makes a difference.

There might be memory leak. Plus there is no reason why this app should take up 100% of the CPU when simming. Photoshop doesnt even do that when applying filters.

This issue is currently being worked on, and it should be fixed in the next patch. Thanks for your patience... So far, it's looking good over here.

Does "this issue" refer to making a more cpu-efficient ticker or is there another cpu-hogging issue being worked on?

OakDragon (and other Mac users),

A large number of improvements in memory and CPU handling have been made in Patch 2. I'm going to mark this as "claim fixed" for now, and we can reassess after the second patch is released. We're hopeful this will resolve the issue for you!

Thanks,

Steve
