I posted this in suggestions first, Raidergoo replied that I should post it here. I don't think it's a bug, as it seems to be working fine (the AI is handling it fine, isn't freaking out on this, it would seem) without problems, except for the fact that it just doesn't make sense.
First, my league only has like 8 managers left, and they're all worthless (not even worthy of a Rookie League assignment). That makes it almost impossible (impossible actually since right now staff contracts never end) to find a manager that suits what you want. The game guide says if you build a team for speed you don't want a manager that favors power... well there's no choice. And beyond that... since there's no contract bidding for coaches every useful guy is snatched up by whoever notices him without a job first... that's messed up, especially since the rating pool is so low (only 30 or so management candidates that are even above 12s). It was already pointed out that staff contracts never end... the poor guy I signed for 40 grand for 1 year in rookie level is still there after 5 seasons. Why aren't there a far larger pool of mediocre staff? Every team is filled up through and through, and all that's left are pathetic hangers on that can't find a job. Doctors who can't heal... scouts who can't scout, coaches who can't coach. There should be a huge amount of mediocre staff out there. Of course, that brings another whole level of problems in my opinion. There's far too many top notch managers, every team has one. That's the equivalent of every ML team having a Joe Torre, Tony Larussa, Bobby Cox, or Earl Weaver. The managers should have a different skill rating though, right now the best "teach" abilities are in the majors... the best "teach" abilities should be in your minor league system since that's where they're "teaching". It just doesn't make sense that every team has really high ratings manager, slightly worse bench coach, and then the ratings for all minor league managers drop to below 8. And all rookie managers and staff are averaging 5 across the board... So this says my rookie level staff can barely handle rookies and can barely teach the game.... what are they doing there? Is the minor league staff just where old senile guys go to die? Last edited by tysok; 06-16-2006 at 01:55 PM. |

This is developer claimed fixed.
When the new build is released, test it to see if you like the results, then tell the rest of the planet. |
