Logos off-kilter

Hi everyone,

I have read the threads about how logos can be distorted, and how fixing the RGB index supposedly fixes things.

I have done this, my logos are 150x150, PNG (and they went through the Irfanview tumbler from png to jpeg to png just to be sure) and they still look funny in places. For instance, at the top of the right-hand screen in play-by-play mode and on either side of my team name in the team screens. I see that this cutting off also happens to logos in the customization game guide. I guess I want to know whether I am using improper logos, or whether the game will just crop logos because that's the way it is designed to.

We've been talking about this for weeks. Someone said that Markus did it on purpose but I can't see why. It's a bug. Hopefully will be fixed soon.

Thanks for the reply. From the information I could gather, it looked as though the whole logo problem had been fixed, whereas I guess it's only been partially fixed by the RGB trick.

Could you please post screenshots of what you're referring to? I haven't followed all of this, and I don't quite understand what you're describing, and where precisely it is an issue.

Certainly Battists. I'll do my best (which means attaching jpeg files since I do not know how to show the picture in the post...)

I am including a screenshot where my logo shows correctly, and then two where it does not, though each "error" waprs the logo differently. I see too that these truncations happen to game generated logos (thus immune to the RGB issue), as can be seen by contrasting say pages 128 and 198 of the Downloadable Game Guide (which I mistakenly identified as the Customization Guide). On page 198, the game generated logo is whole. On page 128 it is truncated so that only the middle two-thirds or so show.

For instance, on my team home page, I have both the correct logo on the middle of the page...

and an incorrect clipped image on my team banner above.

In game, the logos are even more screwy:

From what I can see in your screenshots, the logos are displayed as they are intended to be displayed by the program. As you mention, the truncations occur with game-generated logos as well. Whether or not Markus intends to change this, I don't know.

Pierre, I don't know what Markus' intent is, but I'm going to move this over to Tech Support and get it logged anyway. Worst case, he says "I'm not changing it."

All things considered, it is not as crucial a bug as crashes, but I must admit it just makes the game look a little less polished (though still enjoyable).

I think the real question is why you're using a southern ECHL team as a logo base.
