Free Agents Signed When Free Agents Cannot Eenter League
I was doing some test leagues and noticed in one league I created where I clicked that free agents cannot enter the league, that, after simming a season, in a few instances, some free agents did sign. Now, in most of the cases, these free agents were from the league I was in n, not other leagues so aybe that has something to do with it, but has anyone else noticed this sometimes not wokring right?

I'm not quite sure what option you're talking about. There are:
- Free agents from other leagues may be signed - Free agents may leave this league ...both of which do exactly what they describe. I don't think there's anything that will prevent FA signings from taking place altogether. |

Well, you can turn off FA and that will prevent any FAs signing

These players were most likely signed from the FA pool of undrafted and released players.

It appears the free agents from the other leagues were actually released so I guess its working like it is supposed to. What I am trying to do is mimick a university set up where players stay on the teams for fur years then leave (I manually release them). However, I guess there is no way to stop the teams from signing free agents who were undrafted or released short of going into commissioner mode and deleting them myself. |

Ideally, you could force-retire (and force-unretire) players. Something for 2007.

Yeah what i was trying to do was imitate a college baseball league and prevent free agents from showing up.
Anyways, I figured a way to do what I want to do in commissioner mode. I agree with the force retire idea too, similar to how we can give someone a career ending injury. |

Yeah I know, I had that checked but there were still free agent signings..but upon further checking, it was signing released and undrafted players, which there is nothing you can do about short of going into commissioner mode and giving them CEIs (or manually releasing them)

Hi guys, sorry I'm so late joining this party.
![]() At any rate, it seems like you guys have successfully worked through this issue. As darkenigma figured out, there's not a really great way to mimic a university setting without coming up with some serious workarounds. I hope you were able to figure something out, though. For now, I'm moving this to Closed Issues, because it seems like you've had the issue resolved. Please let me know if you feel differently. Thanks! Steve |
