Crash Scouting Players on December 31st - Can Anyone Explain Why?

OK, I've got a recurring crash bug that I'm looking for some help with. First, I know I've partly brought this on myself, as this is occurring in a league where I'm trying to get Cubby's roster set to work with only three levels of minor leagues (AAA, AA, A). But for the life of me I can't understand how this bug could be related to that. Here's what I've done (using v1.03, by the way):

1) Created a blank league using the standard "Major American League", only I've deleted every minor league below the FSL (so that every team has only three affiliates, one AAA, one AA, one A).

2) Start that game, and release all the players from the teams and schedule an inaugurual draft.

3) Extract Cubby's rosters into a league of their own, and release all the players from the teams there as well.

4) Copy the players.dat and names.dat files from Cubby's MLB rosters into my league. Replaces my draft pool of fictional players with the draft pool of MLB players from Cubby's rosters. Works like a charm.

5) Autodraft and autosim through the entire year. Also works like a charm.

6) I get all the way through the season, through the playoffs, players files for free agency, negotiate contracts, and the usual off-season events. Not a single error all year.

On December 31st, when trying to move on to January 1st of 2007, the game wants to run a SISA rescout of the entire league (with no option not to do so). It CTDs at 73% done every single time. I've tried it with Scouting/Coaching on and off. I've tried it with Hidden Players on and off. I can run a SISA rescout at any time during the season from the Game Setup menu with no problems. But when it tries to do it on December 31st - CTD.

Does anyone know/have any educated guesses as to what's causing that, and (more importantly) whether there's anything I can do to fix it? My thanks for any input in advance.

I apologize that it has taken so long for a response. We are trying to get caught up on these issues now. I have tried to recreate your problem and I have had no luck doing so. Are you still having this issue or was this resolved? Please let me know.
