Trades easier?
One thing I have found in OOTP2007 so far is that it is a NECESSITY to set the trade difficulty to high and favor prospects... In the old version I could NEVER trade older players... no one would want them.
However, this version It seems very easy... A 39 year old has been AAA pitcher wanted out of town so I shoped him around and found quite a few teams willing to give me a decent prospect in return for him. When negotiating the trade I did the normal thing ... which is adding on player after player until the AI says no. Well this used to end up with me getting the other teams whole minor league system (not quite, but sometimes). In this case I got a few more prospects. Then I complete the trade and I go look at the other team and they have him assigned back to AAA. What's up with that. That should never happen, but it is repeatable. Now if this was 39 year old Roger Clemens and the other team was in the heat of a pennant race, I would understand, but neither was true in this instance. |

Can't you change how the AI evaluates players? I think there is a pretty big focus on stats even more so than ratings. I'm not sure if that figures into trading or not.

Maybe so, but I setup the league with the wizard so I didn't set any of these values. I would hope the wizard would set them to good values "out of the box". But this 39 yo pitcher was terrible and his AAA ERA was also bad.

I guess just increase trade difficulty and favor prospects. If you can make these trades favoring prospects and on a hard difficulty, then we got a problem.

Maybe I should post this as a tech support issue to make the average rating the hard rating. Out of the box it should at least be realistic.
