Draft class did not import

I am playing a game that started in 1987 with real teams and everything, automatically updating everything each year (including player ratings). Everything was going fine until it came time to import the 1999 rookies. It simply didn't import any of them. I have the draft scheduled for 11/1, so they should import on 10/1/1998. At that date, the game went through the motions of checking the database and looked like it was doing as it did every year. However, when I looked at the draft pool, it was empty.

I restored a backup I had from the previous month and tried again. Nothing. I looked at the database. There is nothing different about 1999 from other years, and it is an unaltered standard Lahman 5.4 database. I just can't get it to import 1999's rookies.

Has anyone else experienced this?

I just started a new game in 1998 and simmed until the draft import, and no one imported. It works fine for other years (actually, I haven't tested post-1999), but not 1999.

Weird...

I closed the game and re-opened it, and now it works okay. It imports everything fine.
