Beta New Patch Issue -- Freezes, Not Loading, more?

Installed the new beta patch, and tried to sim around a year to see if it somehow addresses the draft & release issue. It got stuck in april and just sat there for 20 minutes. No CPU usage or anything. Finally, I ended the process and tried again.

This time, it stuck on Jan. 30th for 20 minutes. So, figured I'd install my back-up. Wouldn't load. Ended the process again, tried to load the backup again, let it sit and sit and sit, finally it loads. So I try to sim for a year again, and it gets about a week to August 3rd before it freezes again. Again, no CPU usage or anything. The game just sits there. Won't let me escape out of the sim window or anything (is there a way to uninstall this patch without reinstalling the whole game?).

Could you try creating another league and simming for a year to see if this process repeats itself? I don't yet know if the issue is with your saved game or with OOTP or your computer itself.

I eventually reinstalled without the beta patch and simmed a few years forward. I installed the beta patch and haven't had a problem since. So, I'm not sure what that was all about. Maybe the beta patch just didn't like that particular year or something.
