Import 6.5 League

i have a 6.5 league that just will not import

i have it on opening day and it keeps saying that i do not

need help!!!!!

you need to be on the first day that a game is scheduled for it to convert. please check that and if you are still having a problem, could you zip up your 6.5 files and post them somewhere for me to take a look at?

hmmm. looks ok to me, and i've converted dozens of leagues during testing.

did you remove the commish password from the file before converting? that is the only other thing i can think of that might be keeping the conversion from happening.

yeap i sure did...now the file that is up has the commish password on it...can't see any other reason why it will not upgrade

can send you the file in email without commish password if you would like

ok i redid the file to ensure that password was gone and now as it starts to read file...the software just shuts down unexpectedly (retried now 7 times...same result...never gets past reading file and then shutting down)

Does the game shut down, or does it freeze up?

Did you manually add any folders to the league's main directory? Sometimes the game has trouble trying to import those.

no i did not and it just shuts down completely...posted location of file in case anyone wants to help out and try it out

just when i click import it starts to import and then shuts down the game

Which version of 2007 are you using? Exactly what are you pressing when you try to import your game?

i was pressing the right import button

i got it to work on a pc version of ootp 2007...mine was a mac version

another quick question and i appreciate all the help

i need to load a player database as i don't have one and i need the game to point at it...how do i do this as i am new to running a league

When you say that you need to load a player database, what exactly are you trying to do with your league?

Do you need to be pointed to where you can find a player database, or do you need instructions on how to make one work?

just need to ensure historical rookies are imported as i inherited league but no database for rookies or anything...can i just point to gambo database for 2007 yearly

I would think so, but honestly I have never played much with historical leagues, much less historical converted leagues. You could make a copy of your game and sim ahead to that point to make sure that it is working correctly if you are concerned.
