Mac Install Problem

[USN Squid]

Here's a tough one.

I have had OOTP 2007 installed on this hardware before (MacBook Pro 1.83 GHz, 2 GB RAM). I had a hard drive crash last week. Apple replaced it and sent it back. Now, OOTP will not reinstall properly. After I put in the eSellerate code, the game tries to start. It comes up with the stopwatch, takes a minute, and then crashes. This is patching to the latest available patch.

Did you refresh your permissions?

Also try System Optimizer for OSX (a shareware program). I run it at work when someone has an unfathomable Mac challenge and so far between that and resetting the permissions it has always fixed the problems.

I verified and repaired permissions.

On top of that, it was a brand new HDD with a fresh install of OS X. There should be nothing out of place to cause a conflict.
