Poor AI in resigning players
Version 9.1.2-Season 2
Standard major league setup Single Player Chipper Jones is available as a FA between season 1 and 2. He's not the only "name" talent that the AI didn't resign between seasons. Is the AI resigning players a little off? |

As the season progresses players will start to ask for less until they become desirable commodities. Then they sign.

Strange. How often does this actually occur. As an add-on every single team has 25 players but some are Out and not replaced, short 6-9 pitching staffs, 5-7 batting orders.

Sounds like you may have the AI turned off. In game setup make sure Allow AI to make roster moves is turned on. Otherwise you need to do these things yourself. For human controlled teams it is on the manager options page.

Just checked. Lineup selection is set to traditional and all teams except mine are set to AI control.

I'll check this out tonight after work. I have not seen this behavior but that don't mean it isn't so. I'll let you know what I find, when and where I find it and a solution once found.
That is 3 finds and 1 found for those of you keeping score. No foundlings at all however (which is a good thing according to Mr. Dickens). PS: It also just might mean the game hates you! After all it IS artifically intelligent and may be developing a personality. I'd keep an eye on it if I were you. Just a word to the wise so to speak. Tim, judging by your posts in a couple of threads here, I am fairly certain that you are using a copy of the MLB quickstart that has disabled computer AI moves. Can you please do me a favor and try out the steps listed in the following thread?

Of note, any MLB leagues created with the newest copy of the league files available for download shouldn't require the above steps.

I started with 9.0 went to 9027 then 912 version without changing anything except league size and human controlling the Nats.

Okay. Did you follow the steps linked above, specifically:
1. Go into Game Setup, and then along to League Setup 2. Make sure Major League is selected on the left, and then click the Rules tab. 6. From the functions button at the bottom of the screen, choose "Set all Computer Controlled Teams to allow AI Roster Changes" |

Nutlaw
I did those exact things at league creation. It league seemed to work fine (pitching staffs okay, FA resigns correctly etc.) Unfortunately the league won't load now. |

Okay, since your league files don't seem to have this issue any longer, I'll close out this thread. We'll discuss your league not loading in your other thread.
