Arbitration Question

Might have been answered already but

whenever you go to arbitration and you have to suggest an offer, will the game recommend one for you, or do you have to know how much to offer?

I was curious to know this as well.

I did notice on the screen shot that was released that the players offer is available to see before you make your counter offer. Not sure how this is done in real life, but it seemed like both the club and the player had to make the offers "in the dark".

Going slightly OT has a team ever made an arb-offer for a player that was higher than the player's offer? If it's always player > team then there must be some knowledge of what the other is offering.

Tony, are you talking about real life? In those cases the team and player (or agent) have been negotiating for months before the official arb period begins, so each has a pretty good idea what the other is going to ask, as well as what arguements they are going to present to the arbitrator.

Yes (the source seemed credible at the time) but I cannot remember the details to save my life. I heard about it last offseason after the W.S.
I wish I could remember.
