Possible minor bug re: Position Ratings
I had an injury for my A-ball (Midwest League) team that left me with no rated second basemen. I took a third basemen with decent tools and put him at second for the last 6 innings of the game. After the game, he is for the first time, rated a "1" at first base, but not at second base.
Thought this was odd. Could be intentional, I suppose, but I figure it's a minor glitch. |

A few innings at a position for a player that has no rating at that position won't usually garner them a rating. But, for him to get a rating at a position he didn't play doesn't sound right. I'll see if I can replicate it on my own.

I was not able to replicate this on my end. I played through dozens of games and when I did have to replace a player in game due to injury, I always made sure it was with someone who had no rating at that position. After the game he usually hadn't gained any ratings at any position.

Okay, thanks for trying
The 3B who I moved to 2B after the injury is a young fellow with good ratings on turning the double play, so perhaps he was extra likely for the computer to want to rate him at 2B, but the computer made a mistake and gave him a rating at 1B.
I moved a guy off the bench whose primary position is 1B, but who is rated at 3B, onto 3B when the 3B moved to second. I doubt that matters. I will play some games tonight where I will have to start my new 2B, as my GM has not given me another, and perhaps he will start being rated at 2B. Will update. |

Ok, but again I would doubt that the guy you moved to 2nd base will start showing a 2B rating for quite a while. Usually it takes the better part of a season or more for a player who is not rated at a position but is playing there to start showing a rating. The "rating" is nothing more then an indicator of experience at the position, and OOTP won't show an experience rating until a certain threshold is reached. The issue of the player starting to show a 1B rating when he was moved from 3B to 2B is what I think could be a bug.

Can you switch to Commissioner Mode briefly and check the Player Editor tab of the Player Profile to verify at which position the player got experience?

Update on this
The computer had him in the stats as playing one inning at 1B, which I don't think he did. He certainly didn't play 1st in the game referenced. He played 3rd and 2nd. As I predicted, when this player started the next game at 2B, he became a "1" at 2b in addition to being a "1" at 1B.
Btw, the player is Jharmidy Dejesus of the Single-A Mariners affiliate, Clinton Lumberkings, if that helps. |

I believe that this issue is related to BZ 3253, which was fixed for the upcoming patch. If you continue to see this problem in a version later than 10.0.7, please let us know.
