I wonder how 1-54 in 59 starts to begin the season could project to 0-26 in 29 starts for the season.

Me thinks you found a glitch.

There is another glitch on that player page as well.

Look at his numbers the past few seasons--I don't get why there are even players of that quality at any level. That guy wouldn't be fit to pitch in a retirement community league. There needs to be some kind of minimum setting for player ability.

He's just getting unlucky. Look at that BABIP - his ERA should be 14.00, TOPS!

It'd be much funnier if the player's morale were "great" instead of "angry". The infamy of being the worst pitcher in minor league history might make him happy.

Given the team he's on, I guess his the true definition of making a Valiant effort.

The trouble is this: there is no gym teacher code, or, if it is present, then it does not work well.

There are far too many guys who simply hang on too long in the minor leagues. This guy should have given up on baseball several years back, settled down, got married, and become a gym teacher at a high school.

Minor league ball is brutally Darwinian. Guys who has been the best ball player on the field for the last 15 years figure out that they are just a guy and quit. That does not happen often enough in OOTP.

OOTP needs to simulate the rest of the world though.
Now really... if you were an OOTP player would you choose to hang on "too long" in the minors, or would you choose the only other option available in OOTP - to retire into oblivion! Even worse in leagues where we've chosen delete those who don't reach the majors! I don't want to be nothing, and I definitely don't want you to delete me from history!

It's what you learn after you know it all that counts.

That's the trouble with parallel universes and quantum mechanics and playing so much OOTP. If each lg file is its own universe, then when you delete a league file, you become a genocidal God. I never imagined fire and brimstone to really be just deleting pointers in the file allocation table.

For our sake, I just hope God has a large hard drive.

I disagree. I believe the problem is with GM's (the AI) who give these bums jobs. I think most players will keep playing as long as they have the opportunity and I don't think they realize they can't play until they are old men. And then they may know they can't play now, but, boy, could they back when! (I'm 46 and I think I could still play....)

My baseball coach in high school was one of those guys. He was hellacious bitter about it, too.

Mine was, as well.

I used to catch him, out on the ball field, for fun. He was a pitcher.

There is no doubt in my mind he had a 95+ mph heater. The dude could flat out bring it. It was all I could do, to just catch him.
