Single Login for Multiple Databases

I am not a programming whiz. I've only dabbled. I do know how to set up databases on my server and install various software that utilizes the databases.

How would I go about making my website have 1 login...one user account for the users instead of multiple? For instance, the content management software, StatsLab, and maybe even the forum.

Do the databases have to be merged or is there another way to do this? Is it possible to merge databases of multiple applications (for a non-professional). How would I go about it? phpMyAdmin (which I haven't used yet) and some editing of the php in the site files as well?
