United Kingdom Heavies/Cruisers

By request I have started this thread to include Heavyweights and Cruiserweights that don't appear in the game from the UK. I hope that I have not duplicated anybody's work already done on rating these fighters. I don't claim to be an expert on UK fighters. So if anybody sees a need for change in any of these fighters, please feel free to post your thoughts.

Anyway........here's my first offering.

Harry Lister #36412
W27 (KO18) / L8 (KO5) / D1
Heavyweight

Bitmap conversions to jpeg

Thanks for the files. Question, I use to know how to convert photos to fit the format of the game program, but forgot how to do it - do you know how to convert the bitmap pics (that cant show up) to a different format that is compatible with tbcb? BTW, I use irfanview. Thanks.

If using irfanview, load the pic you want to convert into irfanview, click the save folder, and at the bottom of the irfan window is a drop down box (save as type) and simply select what file type you want to save the pic as (jpeg, png, etc.)

If you need the 140 x 140 size, using irfan, select image at the top of irfan, then a drop down appears with choices, select Resize/Resample and change your pic's size there.

Hope this helps.

Duh, it is that easy, huh? I just haven't done it in such a long time, I can't believe I forgot that it is just about using the drop down at the bottom of the screen! Thanks for the info!

Dosen't really belong here

Had a request for this fighter. Boxrec has him listed as a Cruiserweight but I can't find anywhere he actually fought at this weight. He spent most of his time at JMW and MW. Anyway........someone else has already rated him (don't know who to give credit too, sorry), so I'll just post the file I have of him.

Adrian Dodson #17082 (birth, Guyana / hometown, Islington, London)
W 25 (KO17) / L 6 (KO4) / D 0

Dodson held the WBO Inter-Continental Light Middleweight Title and lost in a bid for the WBO Light Middleweight Crown to Winky Wright in 1997.

Boston, here is one of the fighters you requested. I can't take the credit for rating this guy.........the TBCB3 team has already rated him. I must have got him when I updated the data pool.

This whole business of fighter ratings raises an interesting point. It seems to me that all of the rated fighters are built on an upside-down pyramid....sort of. At the pinnacle of that structure is the absolute worst fighter of all time, someone worse even than Joe Grim. A fighter against whom all other fighters are compared. At the extreme other end of the spectrum are several fighters who are considered the best of all time: Robinson, Louis, Ali, etc.

So, this worst fighter, we'll call Joe Schmedley, has to be given the absolute worst possible ratings. Then the card-fillers and tomato cans have to be measured against Joe Schmedley, the only guy they can beat consistently. Then you work your way up level by level through the pork-and-beaners, journeymen, trial horses, etc.

So, who is "Joe Schmedley" in your universe?
