league expansion

How often does a league expand and add new teams? My league is fictional based on the 2010 major league setup. It expanded by 2 teams in 2019 and it is now 2032. Will it expand again or is it done at 32 teams?

Your league should keep expanding randomly throughout the years. So, I would say that your league is not done expanding, but it may take more years for the next expansion.

Yes. It's been on since the league started in 2010.

sorry to steal the thread but i started in 2000 fictional league 12 teams on avg how long does it take to expand?
i had planned on expansion in 2003 2 teams to my South League ATL, & LV then maybe 2 more in 2005 or 2007 2 teams to the North League BOS and STL or TOR, but i dont really want to have 18 teams in 2009 then not have any expansion for 25 yrs.

Well, real baseball has expended 5 times in 110 years, so you'd figure that it averages about one expansion in 20 years. (That's not quite accurate, of course; real baseball went 60 years without expanding, then has averaged one expansion every 10 years since. However, I would guess that OOTP's expansion probability is constant, rather than increasing over time.)

One per 20 years seems about right with what I've seen in my own games, and what people have reported on the board. If you want more rapid expansion, you can always do it manually.

IRL.... 2 teams in '61, 2 in '62, 4 in '69, 2 in '77, 2 in '93, and 2 in '98.

OK, but in any game I've played, it's only expanded once. I've got a game that I've been playing for 30 seasons. None of the others have I played for more than 10.

I did have one league however, that re-located a team, and then expanded. Most of the others, I have to relocate one team or another.
