Is there a way to check a player's career split stats agains LHP's and RHP's?

It only shows their batting splits for the current year, but I want to know how this batter did against righties and lefties in his entire career. Is that possible?

Yes you can, if you have the right stats detail settings in your Game Setup. The default setting is Very High. At that setting and at High you'll have no trouble getting career left/right splits. The catch is that you won't be able to get them in the same screen, but they are there. Click on the Batting Stats tab. Select Career Batting Stats. The screen displays the player's career stats. There are three menus you can select here: View, League Scope and Splits. Select the Splits menu and you can check out a player's career regular season, postseason and versus left/right stats.

This would be great to have on hand as a reference, but the OOTP files do not include real-world career split data- likely because that data is not in the Lahman database yet (as far as I know) and thus it would require entry of two extra rows of data in the career batting files of every historical batter/pitcher (for which career split data would be available). If you are playing multiple OOTP seasons prospectively, OOTP career split data will be compiled as you play forward if you have that configuration set up correctly (Keep L/R career Splits setting on the Player & Picture Options tab of the Game Setup screens for your league).
