From a player's card:
AB=16 H=5 2B=1 3B=0 HR=0 RBI=0 BB=0 K=1 AVG=.313 OBP=.278??? (Hits+Walks+HBP+CI)/AB SLG=.375 The RHP split has OBP correct. The LHP split is the problem. Shouldn't the OBP=.313? Can OBP ever be lower than the AVG? |

Yes, it's possible. The formula for OBP is (H+BB+HBP)/(AB+BB+HBP+SF)
So, I'm guessing the number of sacrifice flies can certainly affect the comparison, especially in cases with few AB.
