Battery dying corrupts save game

I just wanted to let you guys know of a potential issue I've come across. I accidentally let my iPhone battery die whilst it was running iOOTP (I was on the manager home screen, if it's relevant).

Once I'd got it recharged enough to turn back on, I went back into iOOTP but I couldn't load my save game. When I tried, it warned me that the save was corrupt and offered to revert back to a previous save, but the "OK" and "Cancel" buttons on this pop-up were unresponsive.

I guess it shows that iOOTP has that all-important "just one more game..." feeling...

Time to start a new game!

This only seems to happen in very very rare cases, as under normal circumstances the game automatically saves when the battery dies. It looks like in your case, the iPhone really died directly in the middle of a save, corrupting the file. We'll add something that prevents this in an update

Cheers, Markus. Gives me an excuse to go back and correct some mistakes I made the first time, at least.

It really is an excellent game. Now I just need to convince Sports Interactive to produce a iOS version of Eastside Hockey Manager and I'll have the holy trinity of text games...

I was thinking exactly this during my train to work this morning. Incidentally, it was the first time I have ever got on the wrong train to work and it took 6 stops for me to notice! Shows how good iOOTP really is
