Managing Player Variance in Custom Leagues
So I'm practically new at this game, having played only OOTP10 and inside the park for a few months back in the day. One of the big issues I had was in designing custom leagues it was hard to tweak the statistics in a way that would generate significant gaps between the stars and the players a level below the stars. I was wondering how to do this with the OOTP 13 engine. I'd like to buy the game if I can start managing in this way.

I have always felt in ootp 9, X, 11, 12, 13 that all my players had a big gap between stars and average and below average players, my teams now has 1 star, a couple that might be stars in a year or 2 if lucky, and mostly average and a couple poor ones.
I find if there are issues starting a new league you can sim 5+ years and it usually works out, and gives you some stats to follow, before I started my last game, I set the year to 2002 and simmed to 2012 and even if somehow you might find the gap not to your liking, there is so much going on between ootp10 and 13 you would be hard pressed to not to be blown away by 13, most of the people here have been blown away just form the jump from 12 to 13. |
