Money and trades
I started this league in 1915 and it's now 1968. I find that trades are near impossible to make since no teams have any money in their budgets.
Is there a way I can set up the game so that teams don't lose all their money? It's no fun when everyone is broke. I manually give them more money but that's a pain to go through every team. Others must certainly have this problem, and if you don't, how are you avoiding it. Any and all help will be greatly appreciated.

Check what your options are set to for financials - same media contract for every team, Team owner controls budget, and revenue sharing can all have a big impact. An easy way to increase money coming in is to increase the media and merchandising revenue in financials options, but of course that doesn't mean a stingy owner will actually increase the budget.

Check the seating capacity of the stadium. It may be that these teams are selling out, but only having 6,000 people per game.

It's not seating capacity and I don't want to edit anything (as I have done). Certainly, with all the people that play this game, I can't be the only one with these financial issues.
I know, I know, turn off financials. However, is there some setting I can use so that financials are useable? I don't care if the dollars don't make sense as long as they don't make sense for all teams. It's just I don't want trades nixed because of a lack of money. Please help. I will try and be a nicer and kinder Martin in the future if you do.

A couple things you could try is to set the development budget to zero. You could also raise the average ticket price league wide a couple dollars.

You can bring more money into the league across the board by increasing the average national media contracts. You could also increase the average local media contracts. The former will give more money to every team in the league equally, the latter will give more money to every team, but will disportionately favor the large markets. Your choice as to which one you would prefer.
I'd also set the cash maximum to $0, which means there's no maximum. If you have a cash max, then any profit a team makes above it just goes into the owner's pockets. |
