inaugural draft question

is there a way to start a league with real current players and still do an inaugural draft for that league?

Absolutely, in league creation there is an option for "Start with Inaugural Draft", I'm actually just about to open OOTP, I'll screenshot it for you, just give me a second.

I appreciate the help as I seem to only end up with inaugural drafts where the players are fictional.

Use the MLB quickstart to start the Major League Game, choose your manager, and once it's loaded, click this option.

It is a little bit different using the MLB game because its actually a quickstart which takes you into the game itself, so you have to schedule the inaugural draft yourself at the start... whereas if you do a historical league its an option.

I'm testing right now to see what it does with the minor leaguers -- if it throws them in the pool as well.

Yep, it puts all of the minor leaguers in the pool as well.

Man you are awesome. I really appreciate it. Love this game. Got hooked on the 11 and honestly just got so involved in leagues I went years into I only now thought to upgrade and 14 is awesome so far.

Just glad you are able to play the game the way you wish to.

I know myself, I have three different leagues going now, and I will probably have a 4th with all the stuff I like to do. Your idea is one I've done a lot of times, I usually go with the Random Debut myself when I play real players now, or I take over the team as they are.

Greatest thing about this game... we can all play how WE want to play! Take care, and if you have any more questions, don't be afraid to holler.

EDIT: If you wouldn't mind, when you've drafted your team, screenshot us your major league roster. I'm always curious how people wind up on their MLB roster after a draft.

Not sure about he computer's decision making. I think I got Pujols round 4. Felt a bit like candy from a baby.

Yeah I was honestly shocked. The computer drafted pretty poorly as best I could tell. Pretty much everything I wanted remained there even when I picked someone else hoping they'd get back to me. I am however happy to go with that team. World Series or bust!
