Importing Historical Teams Problem
For some reason I cannot import historical teams at all. I know that I have to be in commish mode and I know that I need to go to the edit league structure. I even know that the file I am ultimately looking for is historical_database.odb. However when I hit the import historical team tab a window opens up and lists a bunch of different files such as .txt, .dll, .exe. Some of the choices when selected actually take me to the "Historical Team Import Options" screen. Unfortunately when I hit the button to pick a team nothing happens. I hit refresh, nothing. I'm confused.
I hope someone can help. I tried to explain it as clearly as I can, I probably should have included screen shots or something ,however that little trick has apparently eluded me as well. Being old, dumb, or both can be challenging at times.

Actually you're accessing the wrong file. You need to go into the "stats" folder and click on the file that says "master", then follow the steps to import.

Thanks for the input. I don't know what I did though. Is the master file a excel file? I found that file, and it does let me actually pick a team now. However when I try to import, it says it failed but it does put the team in my league just without any players.

At least you're getting somewhere. The "master" file is an excel .csv (comma separated values) file. I don't know why you're not getting any players without seeing what you're actually doing.

Well I can tell you this. I didn't see a stats file when I hit the import hist. Tab. So I looked for the file. I found it and unzipped it into a folder I created in the spot where I would see it when I hit the import hist. team tab. Once I saw that I could change the years and pick teams I thought I was good. Apparently not. Maybe this feature was not meant for me! Thanks for your help again. You have already been more helpful than the manual on this.

1. League setup then edit league structure (need to be in commish mode) 2. Hit import historical team tab 3. The screen that pops up doesn't help you. It gives you a bunch of useless files for the most part. Hit the "open" tab that runs along the top. A window will open and you need to go to the default_data FOLDER. You should see a bunch of zip files. 4. The file you want to unzip is statistic_files. Unzip the whole file in a new folder in the following spot program files/out of the park developments/ootp baseball14/default_data 5. So now when you hit the import historical team tab you will see a /default_data folder. Click on that, click on the new folder (whatever you named it) click on stats, scroll down to the master.cvs file and hit confirm. Now you can import teams successfully. I do not claim to be a computer genius. There is probably an easier way to do what I did, but this worked for me so I wanted to share it out. Last edited by Hrycaj; 11-08-2013 at 09:56 AM. |

Your looking for the stats folder not a stats file... Should reside here on a default Windows 7 install:
C:\Users\your name or admin\Documents\Out of the Park Developments\OOTP14\stats Once in the stats folder you are looking to point toward the Master.csv or the historical_database.odb file... Within the stats folder should reside many different stats files such as Batting, Fielding, Pitching etc. See the following screen shot... Disregard the location where my files reside and look for them in the default location I describe... Assuming all of your stats files are in the Stats folder and you follow the correct steps you should be able to load the historical team you want... Hope this helps... |

Thanks txranger for the screenshot. I found those files you highlighted, I'm sure my way is more convoluted but I finally figured it out!
