Conversion to '14

I've looked and searched and found a few threads with a few different answers.

Just bought '14 and looking to convert my league. Some say the best time is the 1st day of off-season, some say 1st day of preseason, the manual seems to say as soon as the WS ends before the off-season begins (is that the day of the last game?).

Just looking for some advice.

Thanks!

I've done it at all different times. I don't think it really matters all that much.

With previous versions, I used to do my import after the season awards were given out but before arbitration and free agency - I didn't like the idea of the new version giving out awards for a season that was played with the old version.

But in more recent versions I do it at the end of the World Series before the offseason starts, simply because so many things happen on Day 1 of the offseason.

The nice thing is that imports copy all of your older version files - they don't get modified. So if you do an import at one point in the season and find you don't like it, go back to the older version, play a little further, and try another import from a new point.

The ideal time is right after post season ends before offseason. That being said i have converted in spring training, opening day, may 7thm ASG, Decemeber 15th, so it doesn't really matter. Make a backup before you convert and when you 1st convert and keep them in case you need to go back to either.
