Avoiding arbitration
I've never tried this before but I decided to try and sign every arbitration eligible player to a one year contract be fore the arbitration date. To my surprise, every single player signed a one year contract for the amount suggested in the arbitration window. Has anyone else seen this or did I just get lucky? It seems like a no brainer to take the guaranteed win rather than go to arbitration with the player.

Not lucky, that's standard behavior. It's likely that you can get many (or even all) of them to sign for slightly less than the suggested figure as well.
I rarely go to arbitration with a player. Occasionally I see one that's asking for a ridiculous figure well above the suggested amount and won't sign, I'll roll the dice with them. |
