What happens when a player reaches their full potential in all stats?
I'll use Ryan Hanigan of the Tampa Bay Rays for example.
When I click his name, it shows: Contact 48/48 Gap Power 40/40 Home Run Power 26/26 Eye/Discipline 62/62 Avoid K's 68/68 Overall 69 Potential 69 Does this mean that Ryan Hanigan will never get any better in those stats for the remainder of his career? I read in the manual that defensive ratings change with experience. Do potential ratings have the ability to raise with experience? How about Speed, Stealing, and Baserunning? Do they ever get better or worse? Thanks! |

Ratings and potential ratings can change over time, a little here or there, and are mainly based on success and playing time. Younger players have room to develop, while older players will begin to decline over time.

Players receive random talent bumps to their Potential. Their actual ratings can then increase to meet their new potential. It happens less often with older players.
