Independent League Feasibility Question

I have owned most versions of the game off and on since OOTP 4 or something like that. I have not had a chance to exhaustively research what this year's edition brings to the table but I have a simple idea for what I'd like to do and I was hoping you guys could let me know if it is feasible with this year's game.

I want to run a fictional independent league in the US while running MLB + full minors. I'd like to set it up where the independent league doesn't have an initial draft but instead the teams fill their roster with free agents, basically the leftovers and table scraps of MLB. Then it would be really cool if MLB teams from time to time bought the contracts of Independent league guys.. I know that is the kicker as it has not been a feature I am aware of existing previously although I thought i saw something along those lines for 15. Lastly, I don't want to have any minor league associated with my fictional independent league but run reserve teams instead.. I saw this in the forums and I was hoping i could arrange it just for the independents while leaving MLB as is with full minors. So... is this something I can do in OOTP 15? Thanks in advance for your help!

Yes, you can definitely do that. When you make your indie league make sure you go into league settings before playing further.

In rules, you can set the reserve roster, to not have a draft, etc.
In financials, you can set posting and purchase fees. I would suggest making them lower if you want it to happen.
Then to clear out playersgenerated when league was made, go to all players, click the box, and then riggt click to delete all. (Make sure it is the right league). Then run as normal, and they should sign rejects from mlb.

Thanks for the response panel! I am getting closer to taking the plunge and trying this out. So when I go to set up the indy league and delete the originally created players I suppose I should do that during the league's offseason eh? To give the teams time to sign FA from elsewhere in the universe before opening day.
