Help me with my Cy Young
When these threads come up, I feel like they usually have a pretty obvious answer, but maybe I am missing something in this scenario as I have no idea who should win. Please help. My league is based on modern parameters. Bolded items indicate led league

Diaz. I'd say van halen but Diaz has less walks and more k's and he also pitched a lot more innings

Could you possibly provide WPA numbers for these guys? Thanks. Yeah, I'm nerdy. I know.

I voted Roberto Andinomaldona. Based on the stats provided, he missed the most bats, averaged 1.2 Ks per inning, and kept the walks "in check". He may have had the best defense behind him also, but I stand by my decision.

I like Alpen with better than 1 KO per inning and extremely low number of walks.
Probably the best combination of stuff and control. |

If van halen had pitched a full year with those relative stats, he'd be my choice.
since that's fantasy, the two top vote getters are hard to choose between. (at this moment Andinomaldona and diaz). even beyond those two you could argue it's a flip of the coin. depends on how much you trust FiP et al. especially within the confines of the video game. |

The biggest thing that a pitcher can do to help his team win is to keep runners off the bases, so I went with Andinomaldona for his lowest WHIP, plus enough IP to indicate a full season and enough K to tell me he had dominant stuff as well. His ERA is also close enough to the rest of the pack to indicate that he didn't hurt himself by being a HR machine.

for the future i would post K/9 and BB/9 instead of the total numbers. (if you include IP as u did here)
i personally also prefer FIP and ERA+ over the simple ERA |

Added in K/9, BB/9, WPA and FIP. The bottom 3 have no votes and those stats especially do not help Dinning's case, the reigning Cy Young winner. Thanks for the votes. I am nearing the end of the playoffs and this will decide my Cy Young vote. It's a tight race.
