rain delays and double headers

Will the game avoid scheduling double headers during the post season when rain delays happen?

Good question and needs to be asked. How does it work in real life if a game is cancelled or suspended in the playoffs?

I believe Matt and/or Marcus have addressed the issue that they can not have a suspended game due to coding issues. But this brings up an interesting point where a game is official after 5 and the score is tied and they do not start from where they left off but start a new game, like they use to do, do the stats from the washed away official game count?

There are no postponements in the post-season. Markus has decreed that the weather in the playoffs will always be good enough. (At least, that's the case for OOTP 16 at any rate.)

IRL side note: postponed playoff games aren't made up as doubleheaders in MLB, but they sometimes are in the minor leagues.

It would be cool if the game ever evolved to have the kind of dynamic weather system needed to replicate something akin to the Rays-Phillies Series from a few years back.

Maybe by OOTP 30... which I feel confident in saying, 14 years out, is likely to be a pre-order for me

ah shucks, was hoping for the possibility of like 1975 when the rain delays gave the Red Sox Tiant and Lee for gms 6 and 7.

Weather isn't the only reason games get postponed, however. At the major league level, roughly 2% of postponed regular season games were postponed for reasons other than weather.

In terms of the post-season, the 1989 World Series is an example of postponed games for non-weather reasons.

I got a question about the game rescheduling games after the regular season is over. Many times I schedule games likewise ,sometimes re-schedule the games before the season starts. If I schedule Yankees vs Red Sox DH on Oct 1st(season ends Sept 30th) and the Red Sox have a make-up game(from a rain out) will the game schedule it on Oct 1st even though the Red Sox already have games scheduled for the same date?

I was at the 1989 WS earthquake game, that was so frightening I don't even wish a repeat on a sim game

I'm not suggesting "earthquake" be a non-weather related reason for postponing a game. I was just using a well-known example. Regular season major and minor league games get postponed for more mundane non-weather reasons in most cases: power/lighting failure at park, water main problem, things of that sort. In the minors there was a game postponed because the visiting team's equipment didn't arrive in time and another because the umpires' travel to the game was delayed.

A Cubs-Cardinals game was postponed because of the death of a Cardinals pitcher.

Twice.
