Steam Version

Hi. Not sure if this has been asked before, as I didn't see it if it was, but I want to know if there is a way to change the way the Steam version installs. I preordered and installed to a basic folder on my main hard drive a few days ago when it was first available. Now that the Steam version is unlocked, I wanted to install that version so I can work on getting achievements as well. However, the Steam version installs to the C: drive by default it appears, and I would prefer to have it installed on another hard drive if possible since my C: drive is my SSD. I have since installed the stand alone version again, but I would still like to install the Steam version if it were possible to change the install location. Any chance that that can be implemented at some point? Or are we stuck choosing between which of the two versions we would like to install?

Steam provides a way to install to a different drive. But you'll have to remove the game first. Next time you install it, you'll get a dialog that asks you where you want to install it to. Click the dropdown and you should see the option to put it onto a different drive.

I believe it will say "Create new Steam library on drive X:\" where X is one of your drive letters.

Yeah I have around 70 or so Steam games installed on my main drive, but this one installs all the main data (jerseys, pictures, and so forth) to my SSD no matter what location I tell it where to install. It's frustrating as it seems like it shouldn't do that as the stand alone version installs everything where you tell it to.

Oh yeah, I forgot about that. Thanks for reminding me! I'll log this for the developers to look at. But in the mean time, have you tried changing the data folder within the game? When you start the game, click on Settings and then the Expert tab. At the top you'll be able to change the data path to another drive. You'll have to copy all of your custom data manually. For example, any mods or logos you've added will need to be copied manually. I believe the saved games have to be copied this way too.

I'll have to install the Steam version again and see if that helps. I'll be back later with my findings.

Ok, I copied all the pictures, jerseys, and so on, files and folders from the stand alone version into the Steam version. Apparently that seemed to work perfectly fine as the Steam version didn't spend any time unpacking any of the assets.
