DFA'd scrubs overvalued in trade?

I know there is already a general OOTP trade AI complaint thread going, but this is a more specific oddity I just observed and I am curious if anyone else has seen it.... when I am throwing in prospects to complete a trade, the AI values scrubs I have recently DFA'd as much as a good solid prospects. When I try to add other, non-DFA'd scrubs or even decent prospects, the game does not value them as much as the scrubs. Trading set to Normal/Neutral FYI.

The specifics... I am playing with the Braves in 2015 of a new franchise, it is July and I am trying desperately the dump 2 star BJ Melvin Upton Jrs contract. Realistically, no one wants to take his contract so I am going to extremes to see what could be done if I wanted to go crazy.

I have offered BJ to the Yankees for a 2.5 star Brett Gardner who also has a big contract and is having a down year (90 OPS+). I also am experimenting with throwing in some various 4star prospects to see if that would help the deal. When I click "make this trade work" the Yankees are demanding another good MLB player or prospect to make the deal work... but they also list both Mikey Reynolds and Andrew Thurman as being able to make the deal work.

Reynolds and Thurman are 23/24 year old A-ball scrubs I recently DFA/waived in preparation for their release. For some reason I always DFA/waive minor leaguers before I release them. Both of these guys are no longer good enough to even ride the bench for my minor league clubs. Reynolds is hitting .198 for example and Thurman is a bad pitcher. Both of these guys have poor present and potential ratings and bad stats, yet because they are in DFA status the AI seems to be valuing them somewhat. When I try to replace them with similar but better minor league 1-stars the AI shows no interest. I haven't seen these two have any trade value until I DFA'd them, and both of these guys passed waivers so no team wanted them for free.

Has anyone else seen DFA status inflate a scrubs trade value?

Names mean nothing. Give us ratings to compare.

Note to self: Princess Kenny was really off-putting.

Along with your game settings. For starters are you using scouting and how accurate is it?
