My favorite new thing about OOTP

I was on the beta team. Of all of the awesome new features in OOTP 16, one thing stood out. When creating a fictional league, this new feature will automatically utilize nicknames, logos, caps and jerseys created by the modding community! This video shows me creating a small fictional league, how it works, and how to get it all set up. I wanted to also give a shout out to all of the amazing modders who made this possible. The game would not be the same without you! Video is only 3 minutes.

I haven't played around with this feature yet.. When you hit 'randomize' for the nicknames, does it then only select nicknames which are part of the Nickname project?

Is there an A to Z list somewhere of nicknames that are included that have logos/jerseys?

This is a huge time saver in getting a league up and running!

I just created a 30 team league with randomized nicknames... 10 of the teams had the Nickname Project logos, the other 20 had the standard OOTP logos.

Is there an alternate download location for the team_nick_names.txt file instead of Media Fire? I don't really trust that site and download. It's trying to create a setup.exe file.

The core mod downloaded and installed correctly but it seems to need the modified nickname file to limit nicknames to those in the mod.

If it downloaded as part of the mod I can't seem to find it.

Check the Add-Ons Center dialog in OOTP 16 (game menu), it has the Nickname Project for download there, it includes that file IIRC.

I just added the nick names text file to the add-ons download file. So when you download and install the nick name project file, it will replace the team nick names text file in the /database folder and will only use nick names which have corresponding logos.

Even when I download the file again I only see folders for ballcaps, jerseys and logos. When I search the included files there is no .txt file. I am using the OOTP Developments addon server.

Yes, that's because the cloud server needs some time to update the file. Alternately you could download the text file and replace the original file in /database with this file:

I do mostly my own logos/jerseys, so I won't really be using this, but... holy #%@* guys, that is an amazing addition to the game.
